Project status: In progress
We have received a high level of interest in the proposed Throsby community garden. We appreciate the time taken by respondents to our survey to detail the skills, experience, time commitment they can offer to the project and also their concerns.
A common concern centres around the overland flow of water through parts of the proposed site, following heavy rain.
In response to the feedback received, we are undertaking further investigations, so that we have a detailed understanding of all issues and potential solutions for the proposed community garden.
Accordingly, we have revised our consultation timeline and we now expect to hold a workshop with community members later in the year.
How you had YourSay:
The community garden aims to provide an opportunity for the people of Throsby and surrounding suburbs to connect and learn about gardening, the local environment and each other.
We asked Gungahlin area residents to take part in our survey to tell us what they'd like to see. The survey closed for feedback on 27 July 2020.
If you would like to get involved in the next stage of consultation, please email us at email@example.com.
We are looking at:
- The level of community interest in a community garden on this site
- The design and logistics of the garden and its ongoing management and administrative structure
Please note we are not considering alternative locations.

We will use your views to:
Inform the initial sketch plans for the garden design and provide a base for consultation at the next stage. The information you provide may also help to inform other community garden sites that may be under consideration by the Suburban Land Agency (SLA) in the Gungahlin area.
